Asus ZenBook Pro Duo Hands-on Review
Nowadays, if you always look for some high-end laptops that provide multiple screens. Then you cannot avoid Asus Zenbook Pro Duo. This machine is gaining a lot of favoritism right now. At Computex 2019, all laptops introduced by Asus features an extra screen.
The extra screens are added either by expanding display down to the keyboard or by providing Android like experience just like introduced in Asus VivoBook. Asus introduced a large collection of its inventions at Computec 2019.
But, the most loved one is dual screen. The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo features jawbreaking and most demandable features. Let’s have a deeper look at the Asus ZenBook Pro Duo.
Asus ZenBook Pro Duo Hands-on Review:
Before going into further details, let’s take a look at some astonishing features here. The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo features a 4k 15.6 inch OLED touch screen. The display extends up to its edges. This is done by putting bezels on a keto diet. It features a really cool display having 89% screen to display.
But, the most amazing thing is that the manufacturer has added a 100% DCI-P3 color space along with HDR for providing vivid and black contrast. The OLED display just splits into screens. One of them is a 14 inches 4k LCD that is located at the top just like all other laptops.
And the other one sits just above the keyboard. However, it is assumed that its design resembles that of ROG Zephyrus laptops. The difference is that Asus introduced the matte-finished screen instead of air sucking vents.
This screen pushes the keyboard down from its conventional place. Moreover, the ScreenPad contains a beautiful layer of multitasking. However, Microsoft Windows assumes it as a secondary screen. Therefore, you have an option to place your content at the main screen that falls on this 14in display or just have a separate screen for your tabs.
Additionally, the use case here is just simple and appear more helpful. It is much different from almost all MacBooks having a limited touch bar. As it features a ScreenPad Plus, which has the ability to display video previews, audio mixer panels, coding windows, or timeline controls for optimizations of workflow in an efficient way.
Probably, it is best for gamers to have live chat on one side, camera preview of the face on the other side and the game on the main screen. You do have the option of using Stylus on it. You can use ScreenXpert software for managing and switching tabs between both displays with ease. Moreover, Asus did not introduce any software restrictions yet.
Design And Keyboard
The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo features ErgoLift hinge. The hinge lifts the lower chassis for a better flow of air beneath the laptop. Moreover, it lifts the second display at a perfect angle, which makes it easier for you to reach. Thanks to its ErgroLift hinge, which makes its design more functional.
Obviously, the company assumed that its end users will use a mouse because its touchpad is pushed on one side quite similar to that of ROG Zephyrus. Let’s have a look at its keyboard. The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo features a nice and decent keyboard. Enough space for you to get a palm rest.
The weird thing is that palm rest does not touch the laptop magnetically. So, whenever you lift the lid, the ErgoHinge moves upward and the keyboard automatically shifts ahead. As a result, space is produced between palm rest and the keyboard. This means that here it is not functional.
Performance And Battery:
The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo comes in two variants either i7 or an i9 variant. Moreover, it features an Nvidia RTX 2060, which makes it a really good machine for those who have some serious things to do. The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo features 32 GB of RAM as well as 1TB of SSD storage.
This is just a powerful machine for most of the people who love to work other than just playing games. Obviously, such features will consume a lot of battery. It is to be noted that the connectivity features are amazing. So, you do not have to invest in various adapter for getting a better workflow.
It also features WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.0 and Alexa voice recognition as well. Other features include a Thunderbolt 3 compatible USB Type C port, one DC-in port for charging, an audio combo jack, two USB Type A ports with USB 3.1 gen 2 protocol, and on HDMI port.
Initial Verdict:
You might have seen numerous design elements from the ROG Zephyrus but the Asus ZenBook Pro Duo from Asus has stunning extra screens for boosting performance. As the company eliminates conventionally used RGB. The trackpad and wrist rest are not many alarming points here.
But the battery life is considered as one of the main drawbacks. However, it is best for productivity and serious multitasking work. It is expected that the Asus ZenBook Pro Duo might outperform some amazing touch bars and phones of Apple.
As of now, we do not have any information about its price. But, we can expect that being a high-end laptop, it will be a bit expensive and might arrive in the third quarter of 2019.https://www.productsrace.com/https://www.productsrace.com/
